As a subconsultant to Hardesty and Hanover, LLC, Boswell conducted the initial underwater inspection of the eastbound and westbound spans for the Mario Cuomo (Tappan Zee) Bridge located between South Nyack and Tarrytown, New York.

A total of 82 sub-structure units were inspected, consisting of a 100% visual inspection and 10% cleaning. In addition, ultrasonic thickness measurements were taken at intermittent locations for each sub-structure unit. The inspections were conducted as part of the Biennial Bridge Inspection Program. The project also involved the hydrographic surveys of the waterway surrounding the bridge.
