This construction project provided for operational and safety improvements at Turnpike Interchange 9 in East Brunswick, NJ in order to relieve the congestion at this high traffic volume interchange (85,000 vehicles on a daily basis) from Route 18 in the vicinity of Interchange 9 and US Route 1.

This work consisted of roadway reconstruction, replacing three bridge superstructures, bridge widening over Turnpike ramp “TW,” construction of a new bridge, utility relocation, paving, overhead sign structures, drainage, roadway lighting, traffic signals, concrete barrier curb, retaining walls, sheeting and drilled shafts.
