Boswell was retained by the Edgewater Board of Education (BOE) to provide engineering services for the demolition and reconstruction of George Washington Elementary School. The new state-of-the-art elementary school dramatically increased the capacity of the school system and provided a safe learning environment for the students, teachers and administrative staff. Boswell worked with Di Cara I Rubino Architects to deliver the project to the BOE, while mitigating secondary impacts to nearby properties within this highly developed urban neighborhood.
The project involved the design and construction of a $25 Million educational facility complete with an interactive learning center, outdoor amphitheater and underground parking. Boswell prepared the site plan, stormwater management design, outdoor lighting schematics, earthwork calculations and Treatment Works Approval application.
